Florence sous la pluie - Rainy Florence

Une première semaine s'achève sous un ciel toujours gris. Il pleuvotte d'un jour à l'autre. 

Une chance : j'ai un parapluie! Je sors marcher un peu aux alentours. Je me prépare à une grande sortie mercredi prochain, alors qu'on annonce de soleil sur toute la Toscane. J'irai visiter Lucca, à une heure et demie en train. Ce sera sans doute le sujet de mon prochain article. Entretemps, quelques photos de Florence sous la pluie (non sans charme).

One week completed in Florence, still rainy, day after day. Lucky me: I have an umbrella and I go out a little every day. I am preparing a great outing for Wednesday as the forecast is for sunshine all over Tuscany. I will go and visit Lucca, about 90 minutes from here, by train. It will be the topic of my next entry. In the meantime, a few pix of rainy Florence (not without charm).

 Duomo

 L'emblème de Florence. Une étroite similitude avec celui de la France, adopté par Louis VII, au 11e siècle. La fleur de lys est un des symboles héraldiques les plus anciens et usuels et remonte même à l'époque biblique.

Florence ensign. Much like the French one adopted by king Louis VII, in the 11th century. The «fleur de lys» is one of the most ancient and most common heraldic symbol, going back as far as the Bible era.

Sur l'Arno, pont dédié au père de la nation, Cosme Medicis, ou indiquant le nom du grand-duc régnant, Cosimo de Médicis dit Le Grand, puisqu'il fut construit en 1569. Du solide!

Si la pluie altère l'itinéraire d'une touriste qui en profite pour se roposer, elle n'entrave en rien le plaisir des enfants sur le manège.
